Atlantic Coast Conference

The Atlantic Coast Conference is an organization of collegiate athletes of America. It derived from the Southern Conference. In 1921, the Southern Conference organized the athletic championship among different colleges of the United States. Furthermore, as colleges left the Conference and grew up, as well as participated in more athletic championships. Therefore, by 1953 seven schools withdrew from the Southern Conference and formed the Atlantic Coast Conference. Thus, from that time the Conference has been contesting the athletic games in the United States.

Historical Glimpses of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC)

The Conference formed in 1953 when members of the Southern Conference left and formed a union and grew too large. By 1953, seven members of the Southern Conference withdrew and formed their own conference which is named as Atlantic Coast Conference.

 The Member Schools of the Atlantic Coast Conference

There were seven members when the Atlantic Conference was formed, but now there are fifteen members of the Atlantic Conference. Which are all the members in all sports. Moreover, the member schools of the Atlantic Coast Conference enumerated below:

  • Boston College.
  • Clemson University.
  • Duke University.
  • Florida State University.
  • The Georgia Institute of Technology.
  • University Miami.
  • University of North Carolina.
  • North Carolina State University.
  • The University of Pittsburgh.
  • Syracuse University.

  • Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
  • Wake Forest University.
  • The University of Notre Dame.

The Atlantic Coast Conference Football: and the NCAA

The Ncaa Atlantic Coast Conference Football is a strong athletic organization in the United States; thus, ACC is part of the Power Five conferences. Being part of the Power Five conferences makes it stronger. Hence, it can said that the Ncaa Atlantic Coast Conference Football has given impetus to football in the United States.

The Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball: and the NCAA

Although the ACC is a strong organization, the two-man Case and McGuire who coached basketball in the United States. Case became the father of basketball, and after that basketball has grown in the United States. The Ncaa Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball has won many awards since then. Also, won the bid to the NCAA. Therefore, the organization (ACC) makes men’s basketball stronger and makes it able not only in athletic activities but also in academics.

The Atlantic Coast Conference Football Teams: and the NCAA

ACC football is considered as a part of the Power Five conferences which led the ACC football teams to compete in the NCAA Division 1. Furthermore, the ACC football teams consist of players who enrolled in the member schools of the ACC. There are 11 players in every team. Moreover, there are twelve teams participating in the ACC football championship. Also, the ACC is a collegiate athletic organization so the teams are the member schools of the United States which are as follow:

  • Boston College.
  • Clemson University.
  • Duke University.
  • Florida State University.
  • The Georgia Institute of Technology.
  • The University Miami.
  • The University North Carolina.
  • North Carolina State University.
  • The University of Pittsburgh.

 The ACC Football Schedule

The ACC football is an annual league which is played every year. The schedule for 2022 is issued 27th August 2022 to onward.

The ACC Basketball Schedule

The ACC basketball is an annually played game, and the ACC basketball scheduled from March to April 2022.

 Conclusion

The Atlantic Coast Conference is an organization of the United States and Canada which is a credible and strong collegiate athletic organization of the world. To begin with, due to the credibility of the ACC and its organized working make it possible to be part of the Power Five conferences. Moreover, its structural and functional framework make it a powerful organization in the world, and it gives impetus to athletic activities in the United States. Furthermore, it has been supporting academic activities such as scholarships, the academic rankings of the universities of the United States.
